Sitting at episode 67 of 75, this is firmly in the series' endgame territory, where supporting characters receive meaningful closure alongside the protagonists. It follows an episode centered on Akira Toya's path to professionalism and shifts the lens to Isumi's development abroad in China, broadening the scope of the narrative's final act. The stage is being set for a return to Hikaru's own challenges in the next episode, 'Forfeits,' making this a deliberate pause that enriches the contrasting trajectories of the cast before the series concludes.
