Sitting at episode 63 of 75, this marks a critical emotional inflection point in the series' final stretch. Following Hikaru's Hiroshima journey in Episode 62, where his desperate search for Sai forced him to confront painful realities, this episode deepens that internal reckoning and sets the stage for whether, and how, Hikaru can find his way back to the game and ultimately toward his long-building rivalry with Akira Toya.
