EPISODE REVIEWS

A much calmer episode after the intensity of the last one, with more focus on the characters and their relationships. The slower pace worked well, especially with the smaller moments that let everyone breathe. There was also some setup for a rivalry that seemed like it would become important later on. A good episode for appreciating the cast and the quieter moments between the bigger events.

A deep look into the heavy operational burdens of the guardians. The visual direction uses dim, dramatic lighting inside the training halls to frame the intense, physical clashes between the boys. The metallic shine of their training wooden swords grounds the scene in a harsh reality as internal ideological rifts begin to form.

Everything went sideways in this episode. The tactical failure resulted in a desperate tone. The pacing absolutely left no room to breathe, and was paired with some spectacular animation, that provided some solid character development for Tamaki.
