EPISODE REVIEWS

This first episode was a solid start. It introduced the setting and characters at a good pace without making things feel overwhelming. I really liked the peaceful atmosphere of the shrine and the overall autumn feel it had. The characters were easy to tell apart, and getting introduced to the main group didn’t feel boring or dragged out. A good first episode if you like supernatural shows with a bit of mystery and character focus.

This episode delivers a moody, atmospheric premiere filled with beautiful rural landscapes. The visual presentation stands out during Tamaki's arrival in the isolated mountain village, shifting seamlessly from a sunny train station to a foggy, ancient forest. The eerie, red glowing eyes of the attacking forest gods instantly establish a tense, supernatural mood.

This premiere is highly atmospheric. The pacing is more of a slow-burn, but the mystical tone did a perfect job in gathering engagement. Although there is not much of character development in this episode, the animation looks really clean.
