Episode Context

Coming off the premiere's dramatic twist, this episode functions as the essential orientation chapter, grounding Issei (and the viewer) in the mechanics of the devil world and establishing the Occult Research Club as the series' central hub. It bridges the shock of episode one into the broader narrative by laying down character dynamics and power structures that will drive the entire season. The groundwork here feeds directly into episode three, 'I Made a Friend!', where Issei begins actively engaging with his new role.
