EPISODE REVIEWS

A very solid introduction to both the world of vampires and insane and dark characters that inhabit this show. This anime is one of the classic R-rated anime that shouldn't be skipped.

Episode Context

As episode one of ten, 'Hellsing I' is pure foundation, every character introduction and tonal choice here ripples across the entire OVA series. It establishes the Hellsing Organization's mission and the power dynamics between Alucard and Integra, while planting seeds for escalating supernatural threats that will define the remaining nine episodes. The deliberate world-building here is essential setup; subsequent episodes accelerate significantly in scope and violence.
