Flashbacks remind us of their earlier self-serving attitudes (“I only care about my own survival”), which makes their current actions hit harder. Yuzuriha saves a struggling Gabimaru instead of fleeing, and Gabimaru takes a devastating hit to protect her. These moments of mutual sacrifice show how far both have come from cold shinobi to people willing to risk everything for their companions

The Gabimaru and Yuzuriha vs Ran fight is creative and the Tao strategy is fun to follow. Ran's Kishikai transformation at the end is genuinely scary. Pacing is slightly rushed but the tension holds up.
