Episode Context

Coming off Part 2's reality-warping premiere involving the pillow-flipping yokai, this episode deliberately pumps the brakes on present-day momentum to excavate Nube's personal history and illuminate the motivations driving his relentless dedication to his students. It functions as a crucial emotional anchor midway through the early stretch of Part 2, grounding the series' wilder supernatural energy in genuine character stakes. This reflective chapter sets the stage for the turbulent return of Yukime, signaling that the show is about to swing back toward its signature romantic-comedy supernatural dynamic.
