They all looked cute and fusly when they were younder, even Asura. Kona is sure a heartthrob. The character of Jinichi help a lot in fiding what the main character is seeking, and it open new revelation about the Man-Eater.

I love Juichi! It feels like he’s talking directly to the audience to expand the lore. His "menu" of stories about the Disaster adds so much atmosphere. The contrast between his gritty survival tales and the clinical, shocking pregnancy reveal in Heaven is insane.

We finally get more insight into the kids at the Academy. It's fascinating but also creepy to see how they are being raised and what their special abilities might mean for the future.

Episode Context

Episode 9 sits at a critical juncture past the two-thirds mark of Heavenly Delusion's thirteen-episode run, and it leans fully into the show's signature dual-timeline tension. Expect a contemplative, slow-burn installment that prioritizes atmosphere and mystery over action. The episode shifts between the facility's insular world and the ravaged outside, drawing deliberate parallels between what Tokio experiences behind walls and what Maru and Kiruko face beyond them. The pacing is measured and patient, trusting viewers to sit with ambiguity as layers of the show's central enigma peel back gradually. Themes of discovery, innocence under threat, and the cost of hidden knowledge run throughout. Production I.G's meticulous visual storytelling carries the weight here, silence and framing do as much work as dialogue. This is the kind of episode that rewards close attention to detail.
