Episode 2 is a step back from the premiere. The introduction of the magical girl subplot and two new characters feels rushed, and the episode struggles to balance its comedic core with its expanding genre ambitions. The Ryusei-Meteor dynamic is still the reason to watch, and their banter remains sharp. But the show is already showing signs of spreading itself too thin. If you liked Episode 1 for the characters, you'll still find things to enjoy here. If you were hoping the show would tighten its focus, you'll be disappointed.
