Top watch. This episode brings us both complex emotions and giggly moments. It's the perfect balance of a great story with characters that you can't help but fall in love with. A vivid plot with awesome animation, a worthwhile watch even if you're not super into sports!
The ultimate underdog setup. Seeing Hinata’s pure determination clash with Kageyama’s elite "King" persona is electric. It perfectly hooks you into Hinata’s growth and makes you desperate to see his next move. A flawless start that makes volleyball feel high-stakes.
It's a perfect pilot. It establishes the stakes, introduces two compelling leads, and makes volleyball look incredibly cool-even if you've never played a sport in your life.
Haikyu!! is one of the sports anime that actually manage to capture my interest. Rooting for Shoyo's antics was fun. Murase Ayumu's voice acting really helped making me want to love this series more.
Characters shows strong determination in their sports.
Great introduction to the main character. This first episode shows his drive and determination to get to where he is now. A fun watch with a cliffhanger at the end that leaves the viewer curious to find out what happens next.
Episode 1 introduces Hinata’s passion for volleyball with energy and heart. Despite his team’s struggles, his determination shines. The match against Kageyama builds tension and the cliffhanger sets up their rivalry perfectly. Strong animation and emotion make it unforgettable.
I didn't expect that this episode contained a lot of emotion. I love the determination of Hinata. Despite of challenges and failure he faced, he never gave up. Instead, he took them as an inspiration to work hard for his goal. The story is very lively. Animation remains stable.
Episode 1 is an emotional roller-coaster mixed with excitement and sadness as Hinata gets to play in his first Volleyball tournament. The climax, when he saw the person that he wanted to defeat is in the same school as him, really hooks you in and gets you excited for Episode 2.
This episode is so simple but still managed to get the viewer's attention. I like the way all Hinata wanted to do is to jump high like the Little Giant, while Kageyama demands that of his teammates until they get tired of him. Can't wait to see them play together.
