it is so incredibly nostalgic rewatching this and seeing how much i have grown alongside them. introducing yachi as the new manager is so cute, and seeing the boys panic over their exams just makes them feel like real high schoolers.

analyzing these episodes for character consistency reveals incredibly strong foundational writing. introducing academic stakes via the upcoming tokyo training camp forces the protagonists to confront realistic, non-athletic obstacles, grounding the narrative effectively.

Rewatching to get myself better at analyzing their characters so I don't mischaracterize them in my fanfiction LMFAOOO. Watching this when I was younger than them, the same age as them, and now much older than them this is so nostalgic. It's only the second episode but I've collected 3 quotes for my twt bio

Episode Context

Following Episode 1's establishment of the Tokyo training camp as Season 2's first major goal, this episode introduces the immediate obstacles standing between Karasuno and that opportunity. It's an early-season foundation episode, building character dynamics, expanding the roster, and reinforcing that the team's evolution will require more than volleyball skill. The groundwork laid here directly feeds into the preparation arc that dominates the first quarter of the season.
