EPISODE REVIEWS

The ending. Genuinely one of the most complete, earned finales in anime. Nothing is wasted. The bittersweet tone lands because the show built toward it properly. Simon's final form as a character is perfect. Grab tissues. You've been warned. Watch the full credits. Trust me. 😭

Episode Context

Episode 27 is the definitive conclusion to the Anti-Spiral War arc and the entire series, resolving the existential threat that has escalated since the second half's time skip. Following Episode 26's harrowing push into enemy territory where Team Dai-Gurren suffered critical losses, this finale delivers the ultimate confrontation that every drill, every speech, and every sacrifice across all twenty-seven episodes has been building toward. There is nothing after this, it's the ending, and it aims to be worthy of the journey.
