The first thing that I noticed here is that the animation here felt more brighter and the characters felt a bit more loose here. It was also nice seeing some cliche highschool moments here, they are still students after all. I felt a bit more hopeful in this episode compared to the past ones.

Definitely felt like a classic filler episode since it barely touched on the main war plot. But I honestly didn't mind. The character interactions were so fun to watch. And their overall chemistry really carried the whole entry.

Some recreational.. away from combat.. And love is in the air.. There is nothing much in this episode.. You can skip this.. Or enjoy watching them having fun.

Episode Context

Coming off the combat intensity of Episode 7, this episode functions as a deliberate cooldown that trades tactical stakes for emotional ones. At the two-thirds mark of the twelve-episode season, it marks a turning point where the Hayami-Shibamura dynamic begins to demand attention rather than merely simmer in the background. What unfolds here plants the seeds that push Hayami toward seeking outside perspective on his feelings in Episode 9, signaling the romance arc is now moving forward with purpose.
