Lord of Mysteries Specials

Synopsis
Beneath a canopy of fog and Victorian-era grandeur, a city steeped in secrets hides a world where people drink mysterious potions to gain supernatural powers tied to Tarot archetypes. That's the world of Guimi Zhi Zhu Tebie Pian: Liewu, a 2-episode ONA side story set in the Lord of Mysteries universe. Alger, a brooding sailor hiding dangerous secrets beneath his composed exterior, learns that Qilangos, one of the feared Seven Pirate Admirals, has slipped into the sprawling city of Backlund. He can't take down someone that powerful alone, so he strikes a deal with Audrey, a sharp aristocrat who moves through high society like a chess player reading the whole board. Together, through the mysterious Tarot Club overseen by the enigmatic Fool, they begin hunting a man who could destroy them both. The whole thing plays out with this steampunk-meets-occult atmosphere where every character has layered motives and the power system actually rewards cunning over raw strength. It's tense, methodical, and surprisingly psychological for something with only two episodes. If you enjoyed the cat-and-mouse tension of Yishi Zhi Zun or the world-building depth that makes Big Brother compelling, this hits a similar nerve. B.CMAY PICTURES adapted it from the massively popular web novel, and even as a side story, it stands on its own as a tight little mystery-thriller. Worth the short time investment if dark fantasy with brains over brawn is your thing.

I was not ready for how dark this was going to get, and seeing Derrick forced to kill his parents because they mutated into monsters was absolutely brutal. It hit me way harder than reading the novel and the animation of his face during that moment was so haunting and makes his initiation as The Sun feel so heavy
That scene where Derrick has to use the sword on his own parents was too much for me and hearing him scream like that was just brutal
The eternal lightning in the City of Silver makes the whole place feel so hopeless and claustrophobic
you can really tell lovia is bad news from her armor, and that silver glow in her eyes during the monster fight is terrifying
i am actually shaking after seeing derrick have to kill his own parents and that silver sword going through the cage was too much for me
that moment klein reaches out through the red light to pull derrick into the fog palace was so cool and his voice sounded like a real god
the city of silver looks like something straight out of bloodborne and the constant lightning makes everything feel so hopeless
