Great Teacher Onizuka

Will probably rewatch this again. It was great. The live action did a decent job too

There's a specific kind of pain that this episode captures that most anime doesn't even try to touch the kind that comes not from an enemy, but from someone you love. Tomoko isn't dealing with a bully. She's dealing with her best friend being better than her at everything, and what makes it devastating is that she can't even be angry about it. You can't be angry at someone who isn't doing anything wrong. You just have to sit with that feeling of being less, of watching someone you genuinely love exist in a way that makes you feel smaller just by comparison. That's what the episode gets right. Tomoko doesn't feel inferior because someone told her she was. She feels it from inside, watching Miyabi brilliant, beautiful, effortlessly everything and measuring herself against her. The cruelest part is that Miyabu doesn't know she's doing it. That's not a villain, that's just life. What I find most honest about this episode is that Onizuka doesn't swoop in with an answer. He sits with her in it. There's a moment where you see Tomoko not fighting the feeling, not performing strength just being quietly devastated in the way that only happens when you're with someone safe. The show earns that moment because it didn't rush past the pain to get to the lesson.

A continuation of the filler episode. Expect a baskstory of Nao and the hilarious rivalry between her and Onizuka.

A filler episode with an arrival of a new character. Onizuka's natural, hilarious tactic made everything so entertaining. But a skippable to watch.

Things start to feel like everything is building toward something bigger. You can see more involvement from Uchiyamada, and the preparations around school activities add a nice backdrop to the ongoing tension! 🌝✨

The pacing here is great, mixing humor and tension effortlessly. Kanzaki starts to stand out more, and Onizuka’s way of dealing with her situation is both risky and oddly effective✨

This episode has a really strong message, probably one of the more memorable ones so far. the emotional payoff hits especially during that quiet rooftop moment. Not too stand out of a momment but still really hooked me.

Things took some changes, as well as class dynamics shifts. Noboru Yoshikawa and others slowly start trusting onizuka and its interesting to see who sides with who🤚.

Hilarious yet kinda uncomfortable😭 Eikichi Onizuka pushes limits, especially around Azusa Fuyutsuki. the part-time job chaos adds context but still fits his style

Probably one of the more chaotic episodes so far😭😭.. Everything escalates so quickly but it never feels forced. The pacing is actually really solid here👍👍

Oof.. this one has a nice balance of comedy and emotional moments.. Onizuka’s way of solving problems is still insane, but you start to see the deeper reasoning behind it😎✨

A new major-ish character gets introduced, bringing new dynamic into the story. The interactions feel fresh and the humor lands really well, especially with the awkward moments sprinkled throughout the episode~~
