He somehow lands a job at the prestigious Holy Forest Academy and gets assigned to Class 3-4, a group of students so ruthless they've made it their mission to psychologically destroy every teacher who walks through the door. Onizuka, being a former delinquent with the emotional maturity of a teenager and the physical durability of a tank, doesn't break the way they expect. Instead, he starts actually connecting with these kids, solving their real problems through methods that would get any normal teacher fired on the spot. The show walks this line between genuinely funny comedy and surprisingly emotional character work.
