Episode Context

As the series opener of a 13-episode run, this episode carries full world-building and character-introduction responsibilities, there is nothing before it. It plants the core tension that will drive the entire season: Shuichi's collision course with Eiri Yuki and what that relationship costs him personally and creatively. Everything that follows in the remaining 12 episodes builds directly from the foundations and first impressions laid here.
