EPISODE REVIEWS

the narrative continues to heavily rely on comedic relief and absurd character dynamics rather than any actual sports progression, though they finally attempt a dive.

Episode Context

Sitting at the exact midpoint of the twelve-episode run, 'First Buddy' follows the misadventures of 'Too Late' and pivots toward expanding the core cast by integrating Aina into the diving club, adding a new comedic variable to an already volatile group. The episode emphasizes teamwork and the buddy system in diving, laying essential groundwork for 'Doubles,' where the club's bonds face more direct competitive pressure. It marks a turning point from pure chaotic introductions to building the unity the back half of the season will depend on.
