Synopsis
Sharp-eyed magazine reporter Kokoro Yamihara carries a secret she's kept hidden her entire life — she's a vampire who refuses to hurt people. Her boyfriend of one year, Toramatsu, is a respected police officer she's been thinking about marrying. On paper, it sounds like a normal relationship edging toward the next chapter. Then bodies start turning up around town, drained of blood, and the case looks disturbingly familiar to a string of unsolved killings from five years ago. Suddenly Kokoro and Toramatsu are both tangled in an investigation that threatens to pull their carefully guarded secrets into the light. The central tension isn't just about whodunit — it's about two people who clearly love each other but haven't been fully honest, and watching that unravel under pressure is genuinely compelling. The tone sits somewhere between slow-burn romance and supernatural thriller, less action-heavy and more focused on mood and character. If you liked the quiet dread of Shiki or the vampire relationship drama of Vampire Knight but want something grounded in a modern setting with a mystery structure driving it forward, this one fits that niche well. It's not trying to be Blood+ in terms of scale — it's smaller and more intimate, which actually works in its favor. Give it a couple of episodes and see if the atmosphere hooks you.
