Don't miss this story about Hasegawa's life, because it's really funny. I laugh every time I see people's reactions to him. But even so, he's still a good person.

The birth of Madao? Lmao. I kind of felt sorry for Hasegawa, but it’s still funny how oddly realistic his life is at some point. The chaos in this episode just made it even better. A chaotic episode like this definitely means it was great.

This felt like an aftermath episode, explaining what happened to Hasegawa after punching Prince Hata. The buildup felt serious, but what did I expect? This is Gintama, after all. Still, that ending scene was incredibly satisfying.

Episode Context

Sitting at episode 16 of 201, this lands squarely in Gintama's early stretch of standalone character episodes that build out the world and cast before the heavier arcs arrive. It follows the lighter pet-themed episode 15 and continues the pattern of rotating focus among recurring characters, deepening the ensemble. These early character investments pay off significantly down the line, making episodes like this essential groundwork for the emotional payoffs Gintama becomes famous for.
