Episode Context

Sitting at episode 156 of 201, this is a standalone breather nestled between other self-contained comedic episodes, following the comedic scenario of Episode 155 and preceding another distinct storyline in Episode 157. It doesn't advance any major serialized arc, but it deepens the audience's connection to the ensemble cast through an inventive format. Think of it as Gintama flexing its character-writing muscles before the heavier arcs that define the back stretch of the series.
