The tension during Kagura’s first meeting with Kamui is suffocating. Story about Yoshiwara, Yoshiwara’s "Sun," revealing a dark, claustrophobic world of tragedy. This episode masterfully balances the horror of the Yato bloodline with incredible action.

Episode Context

This is the second episode of the Yoshiwara in Flames arc, building directly on Episode 139's setup where the Yorozuya infiltrated the underground city to help Seita find his mother. Episode 140 escalates the conflict significantly by introducing key antagonists and deepening the arc's power dynamics. It sets the stage for the major confrontations and revelations in the episodes ahead, making it a critical escalation point in one of Gintama's most acclaimed serious arcs.
