Episode Context

Sitting deep within the Shogun Assassination Arc, this episode follows directly from the chaos ignited in 'Shogun of Light and Shadow,' where an assassination plot against the Shogun escalated dramatically and key betrayals came to light. 'Ninja Village' pushes those consequences forward, particularly around Zenzou's shifting allegiances and the dangers of the Iga ninja clan. It sets the stage for 'Ninja Soul,' which promises to dig further into clan motivations and the Shogun's personal history with these shadowy factions.
