The kick-off to the new arc is just awesome. The pacing was flawless, and the cinematic tone inside Yoshiwara looked gorgeous. The writing sets up the foundation for an emotionally heavy romance mystery.

After Gin's awful events in earlier episodes, this episode gives a calm and tranquil act only in the later portion of the show, which is a bit of a cliffhanger for me. But it seems promising for me and gives me a taste of what's to come in the next few episodes!

Episode Context

Episode 5 marks the start of the 'Courtesan of a Nation' arc, immediately following the resolution of the 'Kintama' arc in Episode 4. This transition moves Enchousen from its comedic opening stretch into a narrative with significantly more emotional and dramatic stakes. The arc promises a deeper exploration of Yoshiwara's history and its characters, setting up what becomes one of the season's most substantial storylines.
