It just lets you watch two ideologies collide through fleet maneuvers, backroom politics, and the quiet decisions that send thousands to their deaths. If you liked the political complexity of Mobile Suit Gundam or the large-scale space warfare of Space Battleship Yamato but wished either spent more time in war rooms than cockpits, this is your thing. It shares DNA with Aldnoah.Zero's strategic battles too, but with way more narrative patience. The animation is clean and modern, the space battles are detailed without being flashy for the sake of it, and the character writing treats you like an adult.
