We arrive at a new village in this episode, with an unexpected secret. The chapter has a balanced pace, with very interesting flashbacks about the past that expand the plot and develop the anime, canon within the story, with very sad and emotional moments.

What an episode! The Jiro and Toka flashback hit heavy but the twists really stole the show. The knight princess connection, Facade's messed-up memories and the impending Kumi specimen hunt. There’s so much cooking right now. This show is officially transitioning from good to great.

Jiro truly acted like he got dump by his girlfriend, and his rapid mood change got me laughing.

Episode Context

Sitting at the season's midpoint (episode 7 of 12), this is a deliberate narrative pause after the external threats of 'An Inescapable Shadow' raised the stakes. It deepens Jiiro's character before the back half escalates, directly setting up 'Proof of Identity' where the series pivots from introspection back toward its central conflicts. Think of it as the emotional foundation the final act needs.
