Episode Context

Coming off 'Ringtone from the Spirit World,' the series pivots to a standalone story that deepens the audience's connection to Nurikabe as more than background muscle. This episode continues building the foundation of yōkai-human coexistence dynamics that run throughout the series. It also serves as a breather before the significantly higher-stakes 'Kitarō Dies!? Gyūki Reborn,' suggesting the show is deliberately expanding its ensemble before escalating the danger.
