Episode Context

Episode 12 sits early in this 100-episode run and serves as a tonal reset after the lighter, comedy-focused Episode 11 ('Obake Comedy'), pulling the series firmly back into horror territory. This back-and-forth between comedic and horror-driven episodes is characteristic of the show's rhythm, and 'Ringtone from the Spirit World' represents the darker side of that balance. The following Episode 13, 'Working Hard! Nurikabe the Bodyguard,' shifts gears again toward action, continuing the series' pattern of rotating tonal modes to keep the long run varied.
