Episode Context

Landing at the one-third mark of the series, this episode follows the unsettling disclosures of 'The Secret Flower Garden' and continues expanding the Count's careful infiltration of Parisian high society. The introduction of Andrea Cavalcanti signals the arrival of a new variable in the Count's long game, with consequences that will ripple into 'I Dreamed a Dark Dream' and beyond. Albert, the Villeforts, and the Count share the stage here in ways that quietly lock the larger revenge machinery into place.
