Episode Context

Sitting at episode 62 of 113, this installment arrives in the heart of the series' long middle stretch, following the two-part 'Pint-Size Room' story and its more grounded survival tensions. 'City Without Night' offers a tonal reset, a self-contained fable that reinforces the show's core thesis of judging each world on its own terms before rushing to conclusions. It doesn't advance the overarching journey toward the titular terminal station, but it deepens the texture of Tetsuro and Maetel's relationship with the universe around them, laying the empathetic groundwork that later, higher-stakes episodes will draw on.
