I really thought they killed Riza for a second and I felt sick when that doctor cut her throat like it was nothing because Roy looks so broken holding her on the floor

Greed walking through that explosion and through all those soldiers without a scratch showed how much of a monster he can be when he is angry

I think Father has basically won at this point and it is terrifying because Edward and the others are just sitting ducks down there and then seeing Riza get her throat cut was way more brutal than anything I expected from this show and I really hope Mustang does not actually do the transmutation because that always ends in disaster

Everything is moving so fast now, and Father gathering all the sacrifices like they are just chess pieces makes the stakes feel impossible

Those Briggs soldiers giving that final salute to Buccaneer while he looked over them one last time was the most respect anyone could get

Leaving it on Mustang looking at the philosopher stone with Hawkeye bleeding out in his arms is the most evil cliffhanger this show has done
hakuro_honed's avatar
hakuro_honed
What a sick twist for that gold-toothed doctor to put Mustang in such an impossible spot, knowing Hawkeye's life was literally in his hands. It just infuriated me to see Mustang so vulnerable and desperate, even if I understood why he couldn't refuse.

Buccaneer and Fu going out like that was too much for one episode and seeing Ling lose it really sucked

The way Ed and Al just suddenly ended up in the basement with Father felt like a weird shortcut after all the buildup on the stairs and Bradley going out that way was strange

My chest actually hurt watching Ling and Greed sync up after Fu died, and that scream Ling let out was haunting

I legit felt sick seeing what they did to Riza and Roy looked so broken holding her on the floor like that
nezuko_nuzzle_128's avatar
nezuko_nuzzle_128
I can't believe they actually went there with Riza and Roy looks like he is about to lose it because she is literally dying in his arms. Seeing Fu and Buccaneer go out in the same episode was already way too much, but then Greed stepping up to defend the gate made it feel like a real war.

Watching the Briggs soldiers salute Buccaneer while the music played was huge and he deserved every bit of it for wounding Bradley

I am actually shaking because of what happened to Riza and Roy better not do it or everything they worked for is gone and that doctor is the absolute worst person alive

I am actually shaking after seeing what that doctor did to Riza and Roy looks completely broken after that ending

That short sequence showing the mountains of Briggs after Buccaneer passed away was a beautiful touch, and it really drove home what those soldiers are fighting to protect back home

You can really feel the desperation when Roy has to choose between his morals and saving Hawkeye while she is bleeding out on the floor and the episode just stops there

Ed and Al getting sucked into the floor like that felt a bit too convenient after all that buildup and it kind of killed the momentum of the earlier fights

There is no way Bradley is dead just from falling into some water and he probably has one more trick left even after taking that massive hit from Buccaneer

The way Ling screamed for an alchemist while holding Fu was gutting and then Buccaneer went out like a warrior while smiling for the Briggs guys

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly after 'Eternal Leave,' which delivered devastating losses in battle, 'Sacrifices' pushes the consequences further as the antagonists' grand design accelerates toward completion. As episode 58 of 64, this is deep into the final stretch — the series is marshaling its core cast into position for the climax. The following episode, 'Lost Light,' continues to unravel the antagonists' endgame while the protagonists scramble to mount a last stand.
