"Siete voi umani che volete dare ogni cosa un'attribuzione", questa frase di Greed ancora oggi è da brividi.

Greed talking about how wanting stuff is just being human actually makes so much sense and it was wild seeing him just chilling at the dinner table with everyone while Winry was swinging that wrench around at Ed and the chimeras because even with the world ending they still find a way to act like a weird family

Al cannot catch a break and that shot of Gluttony sitting on the bridge in the dark while Pride pinned him down was some straight horror movie stuff

You can really tell Ed is getting taller now and seeing him and Winry together again in the workshop made the weight of the Promised Day feel even more real

Scar actually saying he wants to *change* the country instead of just obliterating it really caught me off guard; I honestly never thought he'd move past pure vengeance, and it makes me wonder what kind of future he envisions for Ishval. This is such a profound step from the man who just wanted to wipe out state alchemists.

Pride using those creepy shadow hands to grab Al while he was already feeling his soul slip away was the worst timing possible and made the ending feel so heavy

I actually felt a chill when Father walked into the command room and put his hand on Olivier, since she looked like she finally realized how outclassed she was

That scene where Winry refused to run away and made Ed promise to come back for her apple pie hit me hard because she is just as much in this fight as he is

Mustang hiding that note about Selim being a homunculus in the bouquet was a smart move and seeing Olivier burn it immediately showed she is ready for whatever happens

Hakuro screaming at the edge of the bridge after Bradley went down was hilarious, especially since he thought he was the one outplaying everyone else

Grumman using a flock of sheep to derail the Fuhrer of the entire country was such a move and seeing that train plummet into the ravine was satisfying after everything Bradley has done

The bridge blowing up was insane and general grumman really outplayed everyone there

Greed just sitting there eating a massive steak with Pinako and the boys was hilarious and his speech about how being greedy is just human nature actually made a lot of sense

Seeing Father and Sloth just walk into the headquarters and take charge while the generals were screaming in fear was such a power move that made Olivier look completely helpless for once in her life

The way the military just turned on their own leader by cutting that train coupling and blowing the bridge shows how desperate everyone has gotten with the promised day coming so soon and everything falling apart

You really think you can just blow up King Bradley like that and call it a day but we all know that monster is not going down that easily even after a bridge collapse like that

I thought the scene where Winry caught Edward in her house was handled so well because most shows would have made it a weird fanservice moment but she just got mad and hit him with a wrench like usual, it felt very grounded and then seeing Father just walk into the command room and touch Olivier on the shoulder gave me actual chills

Al losing his connection to the armor is getting way too frequent and it hurts seeing him reach for his real body while he is stuck in that cold metal suit

Winry basically told Ed that she is not going anywhere and that wrench is still her favorite weapon but it was actually really sad seeing her cry and beg him to come back safe

There is no way a train falling into a ravine killed Bradley and the guy probably just walked out of the wreckage like nothing happened because he is way too dangerous to go out like that

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at the roughly three-quarter mark of Brotherhood's 64-episode run, 'Looming Shadows' follows the critical preparations laid out in 'The Promised Day' and violently disrupts them — plans unravel, safety evaporates, and the stakes surge. This episode serves as a bridge into 'Emissary of Darkness,' transitioning the narrative from strategic buildup into a phase defined by consequences, chaos, and rapidly narrowing options for the protagonists.
