Episode Context

Following the first episode's charming setup of Tohru's unlikely living situation with the Souma family, episode two pivots to the mythology that will drive the entire 26-episode season, the family's curse and what it means for everyone involved. This is the foundational episode for understanding the stakes, transforming what initially seemed like a quirky romantic comedy into something far more layered. Everything that follows, the introduction of additional Souma family members and Tohru's evolving relationships with them, builds directly on what's established here.
