The final reveal about the true nature of the Queerats is one of the most haunting twists in i havw ever seen. Seeing Saki and Satoru try to find hope in such a broken, morally gray world is heartbreaking but beautiful. A perfect ending in my opinion.

Pretty much a 10/10, whatever angle you choose to look at it from. Shin sekai yori was an anime I watched when I recently got into anime, coming back to it with a higher level of understanding really does make me glad. Really leaves you with that moral dilemma, A true gem.

This series deserves way more attention for its depth and world-building. I’d recommend it to any horror fan, but with a warning: it’s not for the faint of heart! The way it builds tension and moves into such dark territory is truly unforgettable.
