Wounded and falling, Metode reflects on the demon's combat style, noting it resembles multiple master swordsmen combined with impossible speed and stamina. He understands that a prolonged fight means certain death. He considers retreat, but quickly dismisses it, acknowledging Revolte is too swift. Stark, meanwhile, is clearly outmatched, battered and thrown against the structure.

Stark, acknowledging Frieren's previous warnings about the demon's unpredictable movements, makes a desperate choice. He charges directly at Revolte, seemingly overwhelmed and impaled through the chest. Metode initially curses his directness, but a sudden realization dawns on him. Revolte confirms his theory: humans' instinct to protect children is their fatal flaw. The scene then cuts abruptly to Metode's funeral, where Heiter reflects on Metode's kindness and declares it a 'splendid end,' much to Frieren's quiet disbelief.

Aura, an elven mage, finds herself in a dense, misty forest, her vision obscured and attacks blocked. She creates the mist herself, a deliberate tactic to detect mana fluctuations. Confident that no creature can truly suppress their mana, she unleashes a massive detection spell. However, she is blindsided by a counter-attack from Zoltraak, another demon, who wields high-level plant-controlling magic. Aura is wounded, demonstrating the formidable power of her unseen foe.

Fern tends to the wounded Aura, healing her. Aura explains Zoltraak's unique plant magic and notes his adaptation to their tactics. Recognizing the need for combined strength, Aura and Fern stand back-to-back, preparing for a coordinated assault. They evade Zoltraak's changing attack patterns and unleash a powerful joint magical offensive, ultimately defeating the demon. The aftermath reveals a heavily damaged forest, a testament to the battle's ferocity.

With Zoltraak defeated, Aura reflects on the overwhelming strength of some opponents, a quiet moment of professional insight. Later, Stark finds Frieren asleep in the wagon, a common sight. He observes her ability to sleep anywhere, a point Fern reinforces, explaining that elves naturally require longer periods of rest. Stark expresses envy for such peaceful slumber, while Fern seems mildly annoyed by his naive observation.

Frieren wakes slowly, stretching and observing her surroundings. She emerges from the wagon into the peaceful setting of a river at sunset. She walks along the bank, enjoying the quiet moment, sitting on a log and watching the water. Her face is serene, a faint smile gracing her lips. She seems content in this solitary reflection, a stark contrast to the violence that preceded it.
