EPISODE REVIEWS

Food for the Soul is one of those animes that you can’t watch before eating something, because while it definitely nourishes the soul, it can leave you hungry afterwards. After reuniting with Shinon and joining her club, Mako is ready to add cooking and delicious meals to her college life, but when Shinon reveals the true purpose of the club, things get complicated. Can a club like truly be able to exist?

It's only the second episode but I can already tell how slow this plot building is going to be😭 for something that has "food" in its name, it doesn't look like it has too much food or any kind of edible cuisines to it HAHA. Well maybe one in this episode, but that's literally it. So I really hope they pick up the pace in the following episodes cause it's not looking too interesting for now😅

This episode introduces the classic save the club stakes, but keeps it wonderfully low stress. The pacing drags slightly in the middle, it's mostly a chill hangout episode that focuses heavily on building the group dynamic over some lovely black tea.
