VerifiedCute girls doing cute things is nothing new, but what Food for the Soul does different is its setting with older characters in a University environment instead of High School, but still keeping up the charm that these type of slice of life anime are known for. The challenges of being in a new place, living alone for the first time, having to do things by yourself and meeting new people, those are all struggles that someone starting college goes through, and it is not different for Mako, but when she sees a certain girl in her campus her quiet life might not be same again.
VerifiedIf you've ever felt too socially anxious to eat alone at a restaurant, Mako is going to be painfully relatable to you. The pacing is a bit slow and gentle, typical for a slice of life, but seeing the university setting instead of the usual high school backdrop is a massive breath of fresh air.

Nothing too jaw dropping or unique, but sometimes all we need is a chill show, right? π the introduction to the cast are also pretty straight forward, and for a slice of life anime, the pacing is actually bearable! The animation style for the food is super convincing, though. Like a simple katsudon looked absolutely mouth-watering!
