Episode Context

Coming off episode 20's dramatic cliffhanger involving Kenshiro's presumed demise, this filler episode exploits the resulting power vacuum within Southern Cross to explore the ambitions and fractures among Shin's ranks. It serves as a bridge between Kenshiro's journey toward Shin and their long-awaited confrontation, adding villain-side context that the source material leaves unexplored. The title's promise, 'Only One More Step to You Now', signals that the Shin arc's climax is rapidly approaching.
