Episode Context

As the series premiere of a 24-episode season, this episode is entirely foundational, it introduces the combustion crisis, Shinra's personal motivations, and the core ensemble of Special Fire Force Company 8. Everything here is setup for the deeper conspiracies and inter-company conflicts that will define the season's major arcs. Newcomers should treat this as a tone-setter: the blend of action spectacle, dark worldbuilding, and character-driven emotion established here is the baseline for what follows.
