Episode Context

Sitting at the halfway mark of Rising's 25-episode run, this episode continues directly from 'Fearless Challenger,' where Sawamura's unorthodox style rattled Ippo and put his signature Dempsey Roll in jeopardy. 'The Anti-Dempsey Perfected' represents the climactic turning point of this fight arc, building toward the next episode, 'A Fist that Picks You Up,' where the consequences of Ippo's in-ring adjustments will be fully realized. This stretch is one of Rising's marquee fight sequences, cementing the season's emphasis on how champions evolve under fire.
