Episode Context

Sitting at the midpoint of Rising's 25-episode run, 'Fearless Challenger' converts the mental preparation established in 'The Face of Determination' into full-throttle ring action against Sawamura. This bout serves as a critical proving ground for Ippo, directly feeding into the next episode, 'The Anti-Dempsey Perfected,' where the evolution of his signature technique takes center stage. It's a pivotal stretch that tests Ippo's growth and sets the trajectory for the season's back half.
