Even with an unusual duration for an anime episode it still fun to watch and it doesn't feel long at all

A perfectly good introduction to Fate series by Kinoko Nasu. The 2014 iteration keeps the original premise clear while keeping your eyes spoiled with abosolutely gorgeous animation ahead of it's time.

Absolutely love the animation style! Only the first episode and we’re already getting intense fight scenes with top tier sound effects that made me hooked.

I loved the can do spirit of Emiya, but I'd wish he knows how to make better use of his powers.

This was off to a great start, I'm so glad I discovered this anime. This feels like an anime with a high budget because the animation and sound effects was off the chart! Especially seeing Saber's entrance and the rooftop duel, just wow! This left me speechless and hooked.

Ordinary Highschooler and part time handyman Shirou Emiya with dreams of being a hero gets dragged into a war between Heroes of old. Great introduction for a long journey ahead

A good introduction to the characters, Emiya Shirou and Tohsaka Rin. There hasn't been any big lore drop, but for now the mystery shrouding this master and servant is definitely something to look forward to. The animation and fight scene is gorgeous. Can't wait for the next ep!

Feels like a normal day slowly turning strange. Nothing is loudly explained, you just sense something bigger happening. The calm makes the danger hit harder, and by the end you realise life won’t go back to normal. Quiet, tense, and very intriguing start.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 1 serves as the true starting point of the main narrative after the prologue focused entirely on Rin Tohsaka's entry into the Holy Grail War. By replaying the timeline through Shirou Emiya's eyes, it establishes the second protagonist and sets up the inevitable convergence of their paths. Everything introduced here — Shirou's ideals, his limitations, his accidental exposure to the War — becomes the foundation for the escalating conflicts and alliances that define the rest of the season.
