The payoff to the backstory between the little fox demon and the human soldier was genuinely tragic and emotional. Seeing the sacrifices madeand how human greed and war corrupt even the purest intentions really hits home. It does a great job establishing the bittersweet tone this series seems to be aiming for.

This episode was calm and enjoyable. I liked learning more about the characters, and the story kept moving at a nice pace.
