Coming directly after episode 5's 'Promise ~ Pledge,' which established escalating threats against Tatsumiya Island, episode 6 takes those raised stakes and forces characters — Shouko in particular — into decisive action. At roughly the quarter-mark of the 25-episode run, this is a critical pivot point where the consequences of piloting Fafner units become viscerally real. The fallout here feeds directly into episode 7, 'Family ~ Parents and Children,' shifting focus to the personal and communal aftermath of what unfolds.
