The peaceful tension breaks instantly when the threat appears in an entirely unexpected way. The realization that they aren't dealing with a standard engagement hits both the crew and the audience hard. The visual direction during the initial scramble perfectly captures the chaos and panic of trying to adapt to an enemy that constantly evolves.

I think this episode changed how I look at the series. At first I thought the conflict would be pretty straightforward, but it's becoming much more layered than I expected. The more I learn about the Festum, the more interesting they become. I still have plenty of questions, but I'm enjoying the journey instead of rushing to get answers.

So much to unpack here. First off, really interesting that the Festum aren't dumb and actually have some intelligence. Although not much has been explained about them yet (unless I missed it). Based on what happened, it sort of makes sense so far. The only thing I can say for now is that it was a pretty hype episode and the next one will be way better.
