I couldn't believe this series got me hooked from the very first episode, even though I was completely confused about the ongoing story. I had no idea who was who or what everyone's role was. Still, the premise feels so different from the author's other well-known franchise, and it gives off a much more exhilarating vibe. I also loved the interactions between the characters. They already feel like they have a deep understanding of one another. It's nice that the main conflict is introduced early on, probably because this is a sequel. Overall, a really solid opening episode.

That was a great first opening with some pretty decent looking CG work. There's just so much to unpack out of the super quick introduction from past to present. ALL the major characters (so far) got introduced so quickly that I'm having a hard time keeping up with who is who! But hey, it has a cool premise so far and the designs are good. This actually would've been great as a 40min premiere so that nothing is rushed. Still, my interest is piqued.

This premiere does an incredible job of pulling you right back into this world, immediately establishing that heavy, atmospheric tension the series is known for. Instead of rushing straight into explosive mech battles, it takes its time to ground you in the current state of Tatsumiya Island, letting you feel the weight of the hard-won peace the characters have been living in.
