Everything is Fine with the Emperor
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Unwanted from birth, Liu Ling grew up in the cold palace, ignored by the court, and carrying one very inconvenient secret: he can see gods. Not in a metaphorical sense. Actual divine beings, walking around, invisible to everyone else. When he stumbles onto a magic stone, he ends up forming an unlikely partnership with Yao Ji, a fairy who's basically been kicked out of the celestial world and displaced through time and space. She's broke, he's politically irrelevant, so naturally they team up. Their plan? Recruit concubines with hidden talents to help Liu Ling claw his way toward the East Palace and legitimate power. It's part palace intrigue, part supernatural buddy comedy, and the dynamic between Liu Ling and Yao Ji is where the show really finds its footing. He's guarded and sharp, she's resourceful but out of her depth in mortal politics, and the slow shift from alliance of convenience to something more genuine gives the romance real weight instead of feeling forced. This is a 16-episode ONA from Wonder Cat Animation, adapted from a web novel, and it leans into that romantic historical fantasy space with enough court scheming to keep things tense. If you liked the supernatural-meets-ancient-China atmosphere of Mo Dao Zu Shi or the political undercurrents of Sword Dynasty, this hits a similar nerve but with a lighter, more romantic center. The fantasy elements stay grounded enough that the emotional beats land where they should.
