Pretty unique concept and fresh compared to other anime. It involves paintings and graffiti that can lead to conflict and hatred. Eren and Koichi have different principles in this episode.

Seems like an intereting one for me but it's too early to say yet. I'm leaning over Sayuri more than Eren. I think Sayuri is more likeable. Very good animation and I'm impressed on their concept of the show.

A pretty intense start for an anime. The first episode really catches my eye as the plot seems quite different from other anime. I could feel the intensity building up through my spine while watching this. It is more artsy than the art itself – I think I have never seen something on this theme before!

El Primer episodio es una sorpresa original con un mundo por descubrir en el arte, la belleza y la confianza en si mismos de los personajes.

Our introduction to Eren the Southpaw is a smooth and well paced one, while also being very intruiging and captivating, the show proves it has a solid grasp on it's main subject matter and comes at it from a place of love and realism.

the widescreen ratio shift for flashbacks is a smart cinematic choice that sets it apart visually. the desaturated neon green highlights are a distinctive signature for the show. the creative industry themes hit harder than typical sad anime because they're grounded in something

Sayuri’s internal monologue about being ordinary hit me hard. It's tough when you're good at everything but lack that one defining passion like Eren and Koichi

I loved the moment Koichi saw Eren's graffiti and immediately understood it was a challenge. His drive to fight back with his own art is kinda childish and inspiring

Eren just absolutely lost it when she saw the posters defaced. You can tell her art means everything to her. That raw emotion was something else

Eren's pure unfiltered rage is something else it's like a storm in human form and her art is just as powerful.

This episode struck a chord with me because it really showed the struggle between natural talent and just grinding away. Koichi's tears when he realized he might never measure up to an artistic monster like Eren was genuinely heartbreaking, it questions if sheer effort can ever truly overcome innate genius.

That 'Basquiat of Yokohama' line hit hard this whole graffiti concept is a game changer for real.

EPISODE CONTEXT

As the series opener of 13 episodes, this episode carries full world-building and character establishment duty — there is no prior groundwork to lean on. It introduces Koichi and Eren's contrasting relationships with art, laying the psychological and emotional foundation that every subsequent episode will build upon. The central tension established here — self-doubt versus raw talent — is the thread the entire season will pull.
