My heart sank when she walked away without saying a word because the atmosphere was so heavy and the animation actually held up well there

You can really feel the tension when he is talking to the teacher and the music during that quiet moment after the rain was perfect

That encounter by the school gates had such a classic ninety's vibe and it makes you miss when romance shows had this kind of hand drawn art style

I think the scene with the wet clothes after the storm felt very grounded for an old school show and it made the interaction between them feel more personal

The way the rain looked in that opening scene really set the mood and you can tell the protagonist is just trying to find his way through these different girls during his final year
juromaru_250's avatar
juromaru_250
the tension in that reunion was through the roof and the realization that their entire history was a lie is such a gut punch for the start of the season
nia_teppelin's avatar

that reveal about the bullying mastermind was absolute insanity and it completely flipped the script on what kind of story this was going to be for these two women

Jiang Mo is really frustrating to watch because she just lets Xia An walk all over her even after finding out the truth and it is hard to see her stay so silent
zettai_zetsumei_20's avatar
zettai_zetsumei_20
everything about that bar scene felt so heavy because of the history between them and knowing that Xia An is a monster makes their interaction feel incredibly tense for the viewer

I really did not see that twist coming, and it completely changed how I look at Xia An because she seemed so kind in those memories of the bullying. Now that we know she was the one behind it all, the gift or karma question feels much darker and I am desperate to see Jiang Mo stand up for herself
schtzstaffel_scythe_481's avatar
schtzstaffel_scythe_481
it is so hard watching Jiang Mo struggle to talk to Xia An about the past because you can tell she is just completely broken by the truth about who her savior really was

that bar meeting after all that time felt like it was going to be a sweet romance but then that twist about the bullying just ruined everything for poor Jiang Mo

my heart sank when the truth about Xia An came out and now I just want to see if Jiang Mo actually finds the courage to say something next time they meet

Xia An playing the savior role while being the actual bully is terrifying, and it really makes you wonder if this reunion is actually karma for Jiang Mo after all these years
rossiu_adai's avatar
rossiu_adai
I feel so sick for Jiang Mo right now because discovering that her hero was actually the one hurting her is pure evil and it makes that whole five year gap feel even more tragic

That moment after the rain when they were just sitting together in silence hit me hard because it felt like time just stopped for a second

The transition from the heat of the first episode to this rainy mood felt very natural, and the intimacy after the storm really grounded the romance while capturing that 90s OVA atmosphere, where the background art tells half the story and watching him try to connect with everyone during his final year is bittersweet when you realize summer is already fading away

It is kind of hard to keep track of all fifteen girls and this episode felt a bit slow compared to the first one even with the pretty rain visuals
yuno_yukikaze_139's avatar
yuno_yukikaze_139
I felt so bad for her when the rain started pouring down because she looked so lonely waiting there but the ending made up for it

The way the rain stopped and everything felt quiet during that scene at the park was so nostalgic and it really captured that end of school feeling so well

EPISODE CONTEXT

This is the second of twelve episodes, arriving just after the season opener which established the central characters and laid the groundwork for their relationships. 'Early Summer - After the Rain' functions as an early consolidation episode — the initial tension has been set, and this installment begins translating that tension into something more personal and sustained. It positions the series for the deeper emotional and physical developments expected across the remaining ten episodes.
