This is a big lore heavy episode, but at least it gives the show’s mystery real emotional weight instead of tossing out empty lore. Some of the information comes quickly, but engaging enough to make the long-awaited answers feel worthwhile. The serious tone works really well here.
As someone who studies the sciences, you missed many points in the research process. Like if it's something that goes into human bodies, you should have tools to remove it or prevent them from working. Also, I feel like I'm missing something from this episodes ending.
What's interesting about this story is that something like this could actually happen in real life. That said, while I like the twist and the heavy lore drop here, I still can't help but feel dissatisfied with the execution. It all happens so suddenly, without any warning. I also think I'd appreciate it more if this had been revealed earlier rather than now.
